Overstuffing My To Do List

Overstuffing my to do list and taking on too much is something I have habitually done for as long as I can remember. I'm working toward getting my to-do-list to a realistic length and clutter free.

The 26th April is ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) day.

It's our own version of Remembrance day, you can learn more here.  This year was the ANZAC day centenary.

I'm OK With Hallway Clutter

Our front entrance is a hallway.

When our hallway is clear the whole front of the house feels nicer.

My goal is to have that hallway clear.

I even achieve that goal on a fairly regular basis. The thing is that I fill it back up with stuff just as quickly. You see, the hallway is the temporary storage spot for the stuff that is leaving the house.

What Is A Good Day to Declutter?

I'd lost the Urge to Purge.

It felt like I had gotten through all the clutter that was easy to let go of and I had gotten to the hard stuff.

The emotional stuff full of memories.

The stuff that is 'too good to throw away'.

The 'useful' stuff.

The stuff that I didn't want to make decisions about.

What is a good day to declutter?

Why is it so hard to throw out?

You would think that once you've decided you don't want something any more you would just throw it out.

But it isn't always that simple.

How To Take Action Shots Like A Pro for the Technically Challenged

Are all your action shots blurry? Do you want to know how to capture a BIF (bird in flight)?

Is it a mystery to you how photographers can take a shot that shows the water droplets rolling off a ducks back?

Taking an action shot is easy even if you don't know all the settings on your DSLR (digital single lens reflex).

I'm going to show you how to capture that action shot just like the pro's do without having to use the manual settings on your camera.

Two Uses Tuesday Link-up 24

Behind the scenes has been a little crazy here for the last couple of weeks. Along with getting used to being a good co-host for Two Uses Tuesday Purfylle had a small domain name change and is now a dot com! Woohoo!

There's been a lot of things to update with the new URL www.purfylle.com replacing all those blogspot links. Still a way to go but it's so exciting I just had to share it with you all!

The Key to Password Management

The Key to Password Management

I love my dogs. They are super awesome and purfylle (embellish) my life so much and in so many ways.

BUT they are also really destructive little creatures. They don't mean to be Destructors of Everything, they are just excitable. When they get a little over-excited, which is all the time, things have a tendency to get damaged or broken.

Using the One-in One-out Rule For The First Time

Is Your Wardrobe Over-Stuffed?

Thursday I got to hang out with my nieces all day. When  my sister in-law came home we had some fun purging her wardrobe and she sent me home with a whole lot of tops to try on and add to my own wardrobe.

Signs of Autumn

The weather is turning and autumn is upon us.

I know this not because the calendar say's it's autumn but because we have rain, because I'm wearing a jumper for the first time in months, because the leaves on the mulberry tree are starting to turn yellow, and most telling of all, because the Fluff Monster has come inside.

My Big Froufy Costumey Costume - Skirt Decoration

The gown I wore to the Heritage Festival needs a name, My Big Froufy Costumey Costume is perfect for it don't you think?

The below images of extant gowns have been sourced from Pinterest and can be found on my Pinterest board 1868-1876 Early Bustle era.

This multi hued visiting dress was the primary inspiration for my skirt decoration choices. I tried adding a similar ruffle at the front side, as well as the ruffles at the base of the train.

1889-99 Working Corded Corset

Stash Busting was the theme for the March Historical Sew Monthly challenge. The month started out well. By the 7th of March I had gotten this far with making the corset.
