Gorgeous photos Stella. I do love bees. Hope you had a great Christmas
I've been trying to get a good bee shot for ages. This bee was so pleased with his haul he didn't mind me taking photos at all.
SOme great macrophotography there. Makes me want to go and buy some more lenses! #MySundayPhoto
I think I'll be 'borrowing' this lens from my hubby a whole lot more now. Lens is a Sigma 150mm macro.
Hi Stella, what lovely pictures. The detail is amazing. Love the shot of the bee covered in pollen, it's reminds me of my daughter when she's been baking!xx
What a beautiful image you've painted me for of your daughter :o)
Simply stunning photos, bees are incredibly beautiful close up x
They are rather striking. They used to be a popular embroidery subject.
Gorgeous shots of such a valuable creature. We had a honey bee in the house on Christmas Day as it was so mild! And we are in France!
I wonder where the bees go in the cold of winter?
Some hibernate and some die. Popping back from #AnimalTales :)
Amazing detail in the photos, beautiful close ups Thank you for linking up
It was fun to play some more with that macro lens.
What amazing macro shots of a busy busy bee there, It's amazing to see the pollen build up on it's legs.
I think bees have little pockets in their legs that they stuff the pollen into for carrying it back to the hive.
Oh wow. Amazing shots! The detail in the photo is fantastic
Fantastic photos. Great there are still bees for us to take photos of. #MySundayPhoto
We provide the local bees as many flowers as possible in our garden but I've never seen one so enamoured with a flower before. It must be a new flavour for it.
Did you have to completely hold your breath to get these awesome shots? They are amazing!
Just a little, and then I remembered that doesn't work so well - breath out - click while breathing out.
Love these photos, bees fascinate me and I'm always over the moon if I actually capture them at work, just lovely #MySundayPhoto
I could just watch for hours, they have an almost hypnotic way of moving.
Amazing photos. You must have been so pleased with them. #MySundayPhoto
I was rather ;o)
I've left Millie speechless. Now that is a feat!
That's a fantastic shot! Really makes me want a macro lens now :) #MySundayPhoto
Macro lenses really are a lot of fun and worth saving up for.

Thanks Sue and thanks for hosting every week!
Wonderful shots! So cute with the pollen all over its face :)
One for him one for the hive?
Up close, the bee is even pretty! that pollen on its face shot is comical!Melinda
He was just gorging himself on this rare flower that is only open for a day once a year.
How beautiful! I love those shots - you've done a great job with them. Thanks for sharing with us at Photo Friday!
I'm quite pleased to have kicked off the photography year with some bee shots. I've been trying for bees for ages.
Fabulous macros, they are such industrious creaturesmollyxxx
Bees really do work hard!
what gorgeous photo's the flower looks stunning with the bee
The flowers are only open overnight once a year, such a pity because they are just gorgeous.
This is real amazing! I tried taking photos of bees yesterday and I end up with a lot of empty photos as they move fast!Love the little details! Their texture and the pollen on their legs!
You should see the other 50 or so shots from this shoot, and I must've tried a dozen photo shoots before to get a bee shot. They are a real challenge.
