HTML For Non-Techy Bloggers

You decided to give blogging a go. You thought it would be easy and all you would have to do is write your article and learn how to add an image or two.

Then you found out you had to learn how to add hyperlinks, format your posts, add alt text and a host of other things that is all a bit more technical then you signed up for.

10 Ways To Prepare Your Blog For The New Year

A lot of what I'm doing to prepare my blog for next year is addressing several 'behind the scenes' things that have been niggling at me this year because I didn't have the time, the skills or a clear vision of how to fix them.

How To Set Achievable Blog Goals

Do you set blog goals? Do you find your goals easy to achieve?

If you answered 'No' to either of those questions the chances are you feel like your blog will never reach that elusive blog nirvana of a 'successful blog'.

Achieving your blog goals doesn't have to be elusive. A large part of being able to reach your goals is as simple as setting goals that are achievable in the first place.

If you have a Blogger Blog you would have seen the following message show up on your Overview.

"European Union laws require you to give European Union visitors information about cookies used on your blog. In many cases, these laws also require you to obtain consent.

As a courtesy, we have added a notice on your blog to explain Google's use of certain Blogger and Google cookies, including use of Google Analytics and AdSense cookies.

The Key to Password Management

I love my dogs. They are super awesome and purfylle (embellish) my life so much and in so many ways.

BUT they are also really destructive little creatures. They don't mean to be Destructors of everything, they are just excitable. When they get a little overexcited, which is all the time, things have a tendency to get damaged or broken.

My computer is very high on the list of things that has been damaged and broken...repeatedly. This has led to a great many changes to how things are done around here.

Why I Need A Tracker

As the blog is getting busier and busier I found I was losing track of what linky parties I had attended and those I hadn't and I definitely had no idea anymore of what post I'd linked to which party.

How to Participate in a Linky Party

When I first started blogging I had never even heard of a linky party and when I first stumbled across them I wondered how anyone had enough time to add that many links to their blog. Little did I know it was a super fun awesome party where bloggers get together for what is - when you get down to it - a big blogger 'show and tell' event.

Anyway, if you're reading this I'm assuming you have a vague idea of what a party is. If it's a mystery to you leave me a comment or send me an email and I'll do my best to shed some light on them.

Here I'm going to try to explain HOW you link-up to a linky-party.

Where to Start With a DSLR Camera

DSLR camera's are a bit of a learning curve. Nobody wants to give you a straight answer to your questions because it's like asking how long is a piece of string.
Q. Which is the right camera to use?

How To Manage Digital Photos For Blogging Life

Nearly all of the images on Purfylle are my own (not all, but most) and so it's up to me to keep them safely stored.

As a blogger I have new images to manage almost every day.

If you're a bit haphazard in your filing habits, the way I am, managing all those photos can be a bit of a nightmare.

Challenge Accpeted

Fill your editorial calendar in 30 minutes.

I was doing a bit of web surfing for editorial calendar plug-ins, without much luck I might add. Sure an editorial calendar is an awesome idea, if you've got more then just some vague thoughts about what to write about.

What I Learnt From My First Guest Posting Experience

Now that I've finished my first guest post (go check it out, I'll wait), I thought I would share with you some of what I learnt from the experience.

It's a good idea to let people know I live on the other side of the planet!
Really, how else are they going to know that I get their emails at 2 am when I'm asleep. 'rolls eyes at my own thoughtlessness'
