If you've ever used a ruffler foot you will know you need to guide your fabric carefully.
I've been making a Victorian Gown. That means lots of ruffley goodness. I have about 150 meters of ribbon I'm using on this project most of which I've been pleating using my sewing machines ruffler foot.
Carefully guiding that much yardage through would drive me insane!
I needed a way to make it easy and fast without needing a lot of concentration.
I needed to automate guiding that ribbon through.
It's so easy and simple and effective I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier.

We don't really have half-finished damaged projects, what we have instead are furniture with teeth marks! Our dog doesn't really chew much anymore, but the damage has been done. You'll see them everywhere. #animaltales.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! My vintage stool upset me the most, but what made me laugh the hardest was the wall. Yes, Freki (our other dog) chewed the wall. I fixed it. He chewed it again. *shakes head*
DeletePets do love to leave their mark at home :)
ReplyDeleteI've always had cats but the dogs changed our life.
DeleteI have a summer dress that keeps coming out of the washing basket and going back in again! I don't want to wash it on its own but I have nothing else to wash with it as it's a delicate fabric. With snow on the ground at the moment I haven't got much reason to wash it anyway!
ReplyDeleteWe're in the middle of summer and I have wool scarfs in mine. I guess I'll have to run that tiny load for them *sigh* it seems so wasteful.
DeleteI love this post as I am seriously considering a mega spring clean over the next few weeks and I am wondering how much cat and dog hair I will find in all sorts of places that the animals have not even been allowed to go. Luckily Saari and Harry are hopefully both beyond the chewing stage but Harry does have a habit of moving things like shoes out into the field!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining with with #AnimalTales with this tale of dastardly dogs.
Fur just goes everywhere doesn't it? If I don't want fur on something it has to go straight from the wash into a storage container. I've found fur in the strangest places.
DeleteI'm pleased to say the chewing stage did come to an end however we still get protest destruction sometimes. 'Oh you slept in and missed our breakfast? Well we're going to steal your sock and play tug of war with it.'
