When I first took up crochet I didn't have any stitch markers, I didn't even know stitch markers existed. It wasn't long before I knew about them and I learnt the value of using stitch markers, aka stitch savers. That first frustrating experience of when a project accidentally unravels because there's nothing holding onto the stitch to stop it coming undone or your crochet circle grows in ways it isn't supposed to and the worth of this tiny tool became obvious very quickly. But there are so many styles of stitch marker to choose from, locking, circle, coil-less, plastic, safety pins, thread, 3D printed... does it really make a difference which one you use? Is it just how pretty they are? I walk you through a dozen different stitch markers from items you have lying around your home to the fancy artisan styles. I share with you what features to look for and those that don't really hold up to the task.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
My apologies for the buttons grab code being wrong last week. They should be working just fine now.
Last week we really wanted to feature some of the links but they weren't pins so we couldn't because it wouldn't be fair to those that link their pins. Feel free to link them this week in addition to your usual pins.
Most of you are only linking a 2 or 3 pins, but you can link your old pins too! Remember every pin gets repinned!
Pennanular brooch with flat terminals
Pennanular brooches with flat terminals were used by the Romano British from 3rdC to 5thC. The Irish developed the style through the 6thC & 7thC Over the next 200 years styles become more elaborate. although the Pictish pins had less variation then the Irish.

Stella, I'm sorry, but the buttons still aren't working for me. The Thanksgiving theme loaded blank, and the original button is loading too large and spilling into the background. Is it just me, or Friday the 13th? I left the original button up on my sidebar, so you can check it out.
One was missing 3 letters from the code - so sorry! I've tested them. I'll send them to you. They're set for 250px wide - to make them smaller just change the width="250" to 200 or whatever size you like.
