I've promised you this post for a while and it's finally up! Lace tape number 2.
I'd planned to show you this second lace tape the week after the
first lace tape was made.
I had the lace made on time but I didn't get around to taking photos until weeks later and I'm only today getting them up on the blog for you.
This is what happens when I'm really enjoying working on a project, I find myself working on the project rather then documenting the process.
Half way through I realised I needed to put it aside and get onto making a
gift then I had to get my
Christmas crochet projects underway. I've still got a few
crochet projects from Christmas to share with you too. (There are more progress pics over on
Instagram for those that have been wondering what all those little squares are for - that's right, I'm finally on
Instagram!)
But they are really just excuses, the rest of the reason I haven't blogged about my second lot of lace tape is due to the fact that my project wasn't working out how I imagined it would. It's currently sitting in the naughty corner and I don't want to talk to it (or about it).
It's just sitting there waiting for me to figure out if I'm going to continue with it as is, or frog some of it and fix it up, or change it up all together.
So if you've been waiting to see what I was doing with the lace tape, I'm very sorry to have kept you waiting so long.
Here's a sneak peak of current progress for you. This is the part I'm fairly happy with.
Both lace tape patterns are by
Sheruknitting, I used the You Tube video tutorials for both my first
crochet lace tape and my
second crochet lace tape. She can go a little fast sometimes but her tutorials are wonderful. I'm particularly fond of her accent and little idioms such as
'...it is the same beautiful on the right and the wrong side.'
This second tape design works up much faster and is easier to make. I joined my tapes using Bruges crochet. I'm sure there will be a final post about this project eventually but the super hot weather has hit and I don't think I'll be doing a lot of crochet over the next few months.
Update April 2016: I hope to pick this project up again as soon as my shoulder and back lets me start crocheting again. You should be able to find the video tutorial here, just let me know if there are any problems.
Ooo, pretty! Those two patterns pair well together. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project!
ReplyDeleteI still don't know what to do with it. I like the patterns together but I'm not happy with the shape. I'm working on another piece while I figure it out.
DeleteThat is so pretty and delicate, and I LOVE the color ;) Did I tell you I may give knitting or crocheting a try? GASP! right? My local craft shop has an arm knitting class soon, I may start with that
ReplyDeleteI swear I replied to this! I'd love to see you get into yarn ;o)
