If you've ever used a ruffler foot you will know you need to guide your fabric carefully.
I've been making a Victorian Gown. That means lots of ruffley goodness. I have about 150 meters of ribbon I'm using on this project most of which I've been pleating using my sewing machines ruffler foot.
Carefully guiding that much yardage through would drive me insane!
I needed a way to make it easy and fast without needing a lot of concentration.
I needed to automate guiding that ribbon through.
It's so easy and simple and effective I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier.

Oh, poor Stella, I'm sorry for your troubles!
ReplyDeleteBut hey, you never know what the simplest of posts might inspire, so here's a question: Is "off my trolly" an Australian-specific term? Here, we say "off my rocker". I also noticed in the post about Australia Day - what you call an "esky", we call a "cooler". I find it interesting to learn the difference in terms.
Aussie's are far more likely to say off 'Off your rocker' too, but 'off your trolley' wouldn't go a-miss (and I didn't have rocket photo ;p) We'd also say she's nuts or she's a nut-case, crazy, loon, mad old goat or she's lost it, just to name a few. It's been a while since I've heard 'gone troppo' which is one you'll hear more often in the tropical regions.
ReplyDeleteLol! Batty, bonkers, loopy, looney... Why are there so many terms for losing it?
DeleteI got worried about this happening to me since I read your post. If you haven't cleared your browser history, then maybe this will help:

Yes I gave that a go. It seems it ended up corrupted somehow. I can access everything but. :|
Deleteha we all have those days when we are off our trolly. I, however, have days when I am not off my trolly - they are more rare then the other way around lol. check your trash, maybe it's in there!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's more fun when you keep them guessing right? Blogger doesn't have trash :/ Oh well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
DeleteHate it when that happens! Maybe it'll come back to you and write itself again :)
ReplyDeleteIt just might, when I've finished sulking about it. o_0
DeleteOh noooooo!!! I need to see that one post! I've been waitinggggg.
ReplyDeleteBut no pressure! lol
Seriously, that is so discouraging! Janice from mostlyblogging suggests writing in Googledocs, then transferring. Might that help?
Perfect pic!
I've always known that best practice is to write in another editor and then copy across, but I'm realistic about my ability to be organised enough to do that and realised it just wasn't for me. The penalty is a lost post occasionally. On the upside it reminded me I was overdue to back up my blog and so I did that!
DeleteI will re-write it soon.
Awww. It's okay you know. Surprising as it may sound, this little post conveys your disappointment and it's truly personal so it really resonates well with me and possibly with other readers, too.
ReplyDeleteLemme give ya a hug!
I read your comment just after you posted it but I couldn't stop to respond. That hug made my day and kept me going. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply, I popped over to read your awesome copper pot post and got lost in all the coolness.
