Which Stitch Markers Are Best

When I first took up crochet I didn't have any stitch markers, I didn't even know stitch markers existed. It wasn't long before I knew about them and I learnt the value of using stitch markers, aka stitch savers. That first frustrating experience of when a project accidentally unravels because there's nothing holding onto the stitch to stop it coming undone or your crochet circle grows in ways it isn't supposed to and the worth of this tiny tool became obvious very quickly. But there are so many styles of stitch marker to choose from, locking, circle, coil-less, plastic, safety pins, thread, 3D printed... does it really make a difference which one you use? Is it just how pretty they are? I walk you through a dozen different stitch markers from items you have lying around your home to the fancy artisan styles. I share with you what features to look for and those that don't really hold up to the task.

It's been a busy day acquainting myself with the KNK, better known as a Klick-n-Kut.

I had some problems finding the right writing implement and settled on an Artline pen but it wouldn't fit into the pen holder. I was able to use it without the holder but that meant it was off centre for using in conjunction with the cutting blade.

When hubby came home I shared my woes and he suggested we just go buy a pen that fits. We ended up choosing some gel pens in black and blue as well as a pack with gold and silver.

Although the photos are blurry because it's super late and our night time lighting is rather lacking you can still see the different colours the different inks make.  The gel pen comes out lighter then the Artline but the silver looks smashing if I do say so myself.

    1. I'm a bit worried I haven't left myself enough time to prepare.

  2. Ohhhh I like! Loving the silver the most! It's the little details that make the difference and these are nice!

    1. Thanks :o) It's certainly better then nothing at all and I think I rather like the minimalist approach of just my website on them.
