Black Boy Hill

Black Boy hill was once covered in the unique plant for which it was named. In 1914 the site was cleared to make a camp for volunteer service men. The site remains a memorial site to our soldiers, planted out with grass trees (black boys) and rosemary for remembrance

Black Boy Hill History

Australian flag flies at half mast in honour of our ANZAC's

It has been a wet morning

Flowers

The laying of wreaths and flowers is customary at ANZAC memorial services.

Elaborate and expensive wreaths are often left by council members and shire representatives.

There are the flowers brought from home wrapped with a little tin foil to maintain freshness.

The flowers accompanied by a personal message by those whose lives have been directly touched by the sacrifice of our soldiers.

Remember the ANZAC's that did not return home

And the sweet home made attempts to create wreaths and bouquets.
