When I first took up crochet I didn't have any stitch markers, I didn't even know stitch markers existed. It wasn't long before I knew about them and I learnt the value of using stitch markers, aka stitch savers. That first frustrating experience of when a project accidentally unravels because there's nothing holding onto the stitch to stop it coming undone or your crochet circle grows in ways it isn't supposed to and the worth of this tiny tool became obvious very quickly. But there are so many styles of stitch marker to choose from, locking, circle, coil-less, plastic, safety pins, thread, 3D printed... does it really make a difference which one you use? Is it just how pretty they are? I walk you through a dozen different stitch markers from items you have lying around your home to the fancy artisan styles. I share with you what features to look for and those that don't really hold up to the task.

I bet you can tell which were phone shots and which was the camera shot with a nice lens.
DeleteIs Magnus a Shar-pei? I ask because of all the wrinkles.
ReplyDeletePoor Geri, mourning her best friend, while battling cancer.
I'm so glad Magnus has brought y'all such joy!
Magnus is an English Staffy who hasn't grown into his skin yet :o) Magnus has really helped her feel happier I think. She's doing very well with her metronomic treatments.
DeleteMagnus is a little bundle of cuteness! He has a look of mischief in his eyes, but smart, too... Geri better make a quick recovery so she can help teach him the rules!
ReplyDeleteOMG, the cuteness doesn't stop. He is smart too, smarter then his Aunty Geri has ever been. Geri is responding very well to treatments and on her first vet check-up 2 weeks after starting her chemo tablets there has already been a reduction in the tumor. The stats were not in her favour but we continue to hope.
DeleteShe gave Magnus a lick last night for the first time and they are playing together. It's just great.
He is pure love already. He is adorable! Showing such content, he must be spoiled beyond control! I am so sorry for you loss and completely understand the empty feeling. Magnus is the filling your void and so worth it. I hope Geri triumphs her treatments. Please keep us updated.
ReplyDeleteAw, that is one good looking puppy. Hope the two get along and are the kind of companions you want them to be!
