Ruffler Foot Made Sew Easy It's Hands Free!

If you've ever used a ruffler foot you will know you need to guide your fabric carefully.

I've been making a Victorian Gown. That means lots of ruffley goodness. I have about 150 meters of ribbon I'm using on this project most of which I've been pleating using my sewing machines ruffler foot.
Carefully guiding that much yardage through would drive me insane!

I needed a way to make it easy and fast without needing a lot of concentration.

I needed to automate guiding that ribbon through.

It's so easy and simple and effective I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier.

Victorian Cuffs

Have you ever wondered what Victorian cuffs were really like? These men's and ladies cuffs are an interesting study.

Thingamabobs have a proper name!

Yesterday I shared with you some extant Victorian cuffs which have some buttons that are secured with thingamabob-whatsits but I couldn't remember what they were called.

A Gentleman's Brass Cuff Links

These understated cuff links were found at a thrift store a few years ago by yours truly.
I don't know much about them.

Nanna's Button Tin

My Nanna kept her buttons in this tin for as far back as I can remember.

1927 Unmentionables

Today I'm bringing you an extant piece from the Purfylle collection.
It appears to me that these were made but never worn.

Private Collections

This bodice is an oddly mysterious and emotive object. Unfortunately, any provenance it had is long lost.
